WHAT IS EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY?
Exercise Physiologists are highly qualified health professionals who assess and design a scientifically based, safe and specific exercise program to assist with improving and maintaining your physical function and well-being.
They assess, help prevent, treat and manage a number of injuries and conditions through the use of exercise prescription.
Exercise Physiologists often work closely with your GPs, specialists and other health clinicians to help prevent and/or manage your injury or condition, and help you achieve your goals. Some of the injuries and conditions may include:
Improve strength and endurance after injury
Falls and Balance Training
Osteoarthritis and Osteoporosis
Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke, Head Injuries
General improvement in fitness and conditioning
We approach exercise physiology in a way that considers you as a whole person. You may be a person who wants to lose weight and improve your fitness, yet you also suffer from knee and shoulder pain, and have high blood pressure. We develop an exercise program that considers all these aspects and prescribe an appropriate program that will enable you to achieve your goals.
Our new gym/rehab space has a range of strengthening and aerobic equipment, providing a great space to improve your mobility, strength, balance and overall physical performance.
